“She was a girl who knew how to be happy even when she was sad. And that’s important—you know ”
“That the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too.
All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favour all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would have come his way.
Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has Genius, Power and Magic in it. Begin it now.”
– Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
p.p.s please note the note, to the boy above, that i do not write like a second grader
On my way to New York, there was a overly “the world is against me” guy behind me. Just want you want when you’re about to go on a plane, the negative magnet who is inevitably going to self combust over the seatbelt sign being on too long. The sister/girlfriend/wife with him constantly found everything hilarious which brought him 5 seconds from having a spaz out moment on her until she said:
“Smile first, cry last”
I’ve never heard that before, but thought it was definitely something to hold on to for life.
“Plenty to be happy about, leaves less to be anything-else about.”
