#101 – #105: How to stay Healthy during Ultra Music Week

Ultra is one of the most exciting times in Miami.

Usually it is a two day music festival paired with WMC.

This year they truly decided to give us a run for our sanity with splitting the two apart and putting WMC at the beginning of the month and making Ultra a Three days mayhem fest instead. My poor liver.

The line up is sick and just needs to be googled.

(alright here you go lazy… [http://www.ultramusicfestival.com/] )

Now since I’m not planning on popping speed and taking vitamins with smiley faces on them, I’ve been trying to figure out just how I will manage to stay awake for parties that go from 12pm in the afternoon to 5 am in the morning.

1. For Energy Drinks:

Appraently this drink burns calories, so two birds with one stone. It has virtually no calories and contains 20 percent of your calcium RDA. (12 oz.)
Enviga (activie ingredient Guarana) Enviga Green Tea is a great choice for boosting energy and antioxidant levels.

HI BALL (Best Mixer, Nix the Red Bull)
Its been tagged the “World’s First Sparkling Energy Drink,” HiBall contains no sugar, artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners or preservatives. The taste is crisp and the energy is simple, with 75 milligrams of natural caffeine. (10 oz.)

2. Pop Vitamins before you go out!

My nazi health freak friend Gus taught me that. So I’m excited because it’s an extra reason for me to eat a Flinstone’s gummy (for adults).

3. Water, lots of it!!!

With all the pool parties and sun, its going to be dehydration city. Also drinking a bottle of water before going to bed helps to prevent a hangover.

4. Food

Blueberries is a great for the party diet. One-cup is equal to 20 grams of energy-enhancing carbohydrates, four grams of appetite-curbing fiber as well as a significant amount of vitamin C, a potent antioxidant that keeps the immune system revved. Blueberries have the highest ORAC (oxygen radical absorbance capacity) score of any fresh fruit, which means they can destroy free radicals in the body before they cause damage to healthy cells. In addition, the dye that makes blueberries “blue” has been shown to improve memory, balance and coordination. Blueberries are a tasty addition to cereals, salads and smoothies. In the colder months when fresh blueberries are less prevalent, opt for the frozen variety.

5. Being Happy

Ok so I drilled you with all the health options, but a good time is also about treating yourself. Have a Five Guys burger(with no cheese), sleep well (for four hours til the next party), and drink well (and try no to pop a squat in public or accidentally on a bum).

Look like this:

I certainly learned about most of this, but in spite of this, I still assumed it had been beneficial. Nice blog!
